This blog is for current and past international students to share their thoughts on their time at Kerikeri High School. Some will have been in the Sailing Academy, others the Theatre Arts Academy, while most will be following academic programmes of varying lengths. We also have GAP students who join our school. Read stories from students from all over the world who have had a great time here.

Why not come and see for yourself?

Hongi Photos

*Update - Hongi slideshow may be found at the bottom of this blog*

Above are some photos from the Powhiri on Monday, where the students were welcomed with the hongi, the traditional Maori greeting.

Check out the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hongi for the story behind this greeting.

How do you welcome new people in your home country? With handshakes, kisses, bows?
